Our Mission

To make Canadian remembrance relevant, vibrant, and accessible—especially for young people—so as to inspire year-round gratitude for our peace, freedom, and friendship with other countries.

Our Vision

  • The Canadian Remembrance Torch is a recognized symbol of Canadian remembrance, with a permanent home and a perpetual flame.
  • Every Canadian student has an opportunity to participate as a Detective, Creative, and/or Influencer in the Student TorchBearers Program.
  • The name of every Canadian killed in a war or peacekeeping mission is recognized with a Faces to Names profile that includes a photo and story.
  • Every Canadian cenotaph has QR code signage that provides access to Faces to Names.
  • Every Canadian community is inspired to host student-led commemorative events, year-round, and to promote historical bonds of friendship with communities outside of Canada.
